We work in partnership with other organisations to provide landlord engagement workshops across England.
Around 200 delegates attended our most recent series of workshops – seven with HouseMark and four with Housing Quality Network.
The workshops focus on the role and remit of the Housing Ombudsman, the dispute resolution policy and processes, and how to use our dispute resolution principles to deliver good outcomes for residents and landlords. They are practically based and interactive, looking at specific case studies and best practice examples on a range of issues such as early resolution, compensation and how to manage the expectations of residents.
Here are some of the delegate comments:
Valuable learning points – be fair, early resolution, personal contact at early stage, manage expectations.
An interesting and thought-provoking session, very useful and lots to take back to staff.
I intend to apply the DRPs as a theme throughout our complaints review.
Very good seminar and an opportunity to discuss how to deal with complaints, identify good practice, and to network with colleagues as part of the mini exercises.
The presentations were very interesting, and lots of useful information. I will be revising my post complaints procedures to improve action plans and also map trends.
I enjoyed sharing experiences with others, very clear, well presented and informative.
We will continue this partnership working approach to deliver some new workshops during the autumn and winter of 2017-18. These workshops will focus on particular themes such as compensation, anti-social behaviour, property condition and how to deal with persistent complainants.
